But why?

If you’ve been part of RadioDune for a while, you may have noticed something shifting.

RadioDune started with a simple idea: make discovering and listening to radio on the internet feel exciting again. That core idea is still very much alive. But somewhere along the way, RadioDune became much more than radio.

Today, we’re building an expansive platform for radio, podcasts, audiobooks, television, discovery, creators, and whatever comes next. As the platform has grown, we’ve realized that the name RadioDune no longer tells the whole story.

So, we’re making a change: RadioDune is officially becoming OndaCast.

RadioDune Got Us Here

First, RadioDune isn’t something we’re trying to erase—quite the opposite. RadioDune gave this project its original identity and represented our belief that radio could still feel fresh, global, and exciting in a world dominated by algorithmic playlists and streaming giants. That’s where “Make Radio Cool Again” came from, and we still stand by it.

Radio will always remain an essential pillar of what we do. But as the platform grew, we expanded into:

• Podcasts and episodic shows

• Full-length audiobooks

• Television feeds and richer discovery tools from around the world

At some point, we had to ask ourselves a simple question: If someone heard the name RadioDune for the first time, would they know that all of this exists here? Probably not. And that matters.

Why OndaCast?

We already had another name in development: OndaCast. Maintaining two separate platforms moving toward the same goals didn’t make sense, and OndaCast naturally represented where we were heading.

“Onda” means wave in Spanish, and waves define everything we touch:

• Radio and sound travel in waves.

• Broadcasting is built on waves.

• Culture and trends move in waves.

• Entertainment flows seamlessly between audio, video, live broadcasts, and communities.

OndaCast isn't confined to a single media format; it gives us room to grow. Rather than building separate projects, we’re bringing everything together under one roof: One platform. One community. One direction.

The Vision Behind “Catch the Wave”

We spent time considering other taglines like The Audio Wave or Make Audio Cool Again. While catchy, they created the same problem: defining the platform by what it supports today instead of what it can become tomorrow.

OndaCast is centered around audio right now, but its future includes live television, video podcasts, original creator productions, live performances, and formats we haven’t even imagined yet.

"Catch the Wave" stays open, memorable, and ready to grow alongside the platform.

What Happens to Radio?

Rebranding does not mean abandoning radio. Radio simply becomes a featured pillar within a broader ecosystem:

• OndaCast Radio (Make Radio Cool Again)

• OndaCast Podcasts

• OndaCast Audiobooks

• OndaCast TV

Each section gets room to develop its own distinct identity while staying connected to the OndaCast family. And yes, “Make Radio Cool Again” is staying right where it belongs.

Introducing OndaCast Originals

As we expand, we want to go beyond aggregation and help create incredible media. OndaCast Originals will focus on:

• Original podcasts, interviews, and audio documentaries

• Video series and special live broadcasts

• Independent creator collaborations and storytelling

• Hybrid formats bridging radio, video, and community media

OndaCast will always be a home for discovery, but it will also become a launchpad for original creation.

Unified Discovery Without the Clutter

Streaming has become exhausting and fragmented. You shouldn't need five different apps open just to listen to global radio, check a podcast, start an audiobook, and watch a live feed.

OndaCast is designed to bring those pieces together into a single, unified discovery feed—connecting different formats, voices, and countries seamlessly.

Accounts, Links, and RadioDune.com

We're handling this transition smoothly:

• OndaCast.com will become the primary home of the platform.

• RadioDune.com links, bookmarks, and station URLs will redirect seamlessly so nothing breaks.

• Accounts and Favorites will carry over automatically. You won't have to restart your library or reconfigure your settings.

This isn't a shutdown; it’s an upgrade. If an update ever requires action on your end, we’ll communicate it clearly in advance.

The Future of OndaCast

Every hour spent managing two separate platforms was an hour taken away from making one platform great. Combining our resources allows us to focus entirely on better personalization, richer player experiences, cross-device support, creator tools, and community features.

RadioDune told people where we started. OndaCast tells us where we can go.
